Another fun week this week. I have been working on rough mixes since I have had Pro Tools so it is becoming second nature and I can have a rough mix up pretty quickly. Very much looking forward to getting into the EQ chapter as that still confounds me. I have been using them based on my ears. Moving things around on the 7 band plug in until it sounds like what I want. I have been told frequently that it comes with practice so hopefully that is the case, and I will continue to get better and more familiar with it. The studio time was excellent. I was able to take another day off from my 9-5 so that I could be present for an entire day of live session recording. We did some bass overdubs as well some guitar replacement. If all goes well hopefully I will be able to arrange to be there again this coming Wednesday as I have been asked to take the lead on the session. One of my classmates, soon to be graduates, is coming in with his band and he asked me if I could take the lead in the control room. Fingers crossed that goes well. It will be a big step in my continued development.  Follow up next week. Wish me luck!
