Today was my first session in a real studio. It was brief but a lot of fun. I heard some of the stuff that was being recorded there and it sounded pretty cool to me. The song I heard being worked on at that moment was some good ol' rock and roll. It was awesome! My mentor Rick Rooney really knows what he is doing I guess that is why he found himslef being a mentor. He also taught me some really cool stuff on what I would need to have a good session going in my own home studio. It seems to me that being at the studio that was selected for me was a good selection for me becuase the people I met there were really cool and welcoming. I got to get my hand on a huge mix board. I dont think I would have been doing it that well in a regular college. This school seems to be the one for me. I am having so much fun that even the work I have to put into it is enjoyable, because it is something I love to learn about. So far I am diggin the experience.
I am going to be going back this wednesday and we are going to be recording a band. Actually recording a band at school!!!! I am expecting to learn alot fom it and I hope I can put some of my own work into the mix. Imagine if that album goes platinum and I have the chance to say I was a part of it? That is the dream of any person in my shoes. I am gonnna show up on wednesday with my game face on and ready to take some serious notes. Might even learn a thing or two from the band members themselves. Either way it goes I am excited.
