Today during our observation we got to join Chris Harris upstairs in the mezz while he troubleshot the SSL console and The power units that were having some issues. Along with that, he had taken apart and taken care of some soldering on one of the patchbay connectors that was causing some issues. I got to pick Chris's brain for a moment about my digital console as well, which was good.
After that, Mark came upstairs and sat with all of us and we went over some important initial session information regarding sample rate and bit depth, file types and why we work in the settings we do. We also brushed over how and how not to export a session for delivering to another person. Mark had received and was trying to open a song he was going to work on and they did not give the session file, just a bunch of audio...That of course didn't work upon importing.
Overall it was another good day, and things or learned.
I'd like to maybe understand a little more in depth one day about the power boxes in the back room actually power the board, but I imagine in due time that will come.
