Yesterday at observation at Engine Room Audio, learned how to use Melodyne, a program used for pitch correction in the studio. I had used the program a few times in the past, so was familiar but a little refresher never hurt nobody. We used it on a song with a male vocalist. The program's really transparent when used and adjusted correctly. After that, we headed in to the mastering room with Mark and got to listen and analyze a record that one of the GAs at ERA, Greg is currently working on mixing. We also did this for another song of one of the other students. We discussed adjustments that should be made regarding different freq areas that tend to get build up in the low-mids, as well as issues we may encounter during mixing a song. Mark even went and took another one of the students mixes, analyzed it, and gave it a master. Learned a good amount today.
