Troy ColeyDetroit Recording Connection

First blog entry Posted on 2016-12-06 by Troy Coley

Im am elated, anxious, ambitious, humbled. All these things at the same time. Yet, these mere emotions pale in comparison to infinite amount of functions my human body is able to juggle at the same time. I've wanted to attend RRFC for about 2 or 3 years now and here i sit, typing my first blog as an apprentice to Kevin Sharpe, owner of Metro 37. The first chapter was pretty intense. I was having flashbacks of High School Anatomy class and nights i spent watching my boys record and mix and master in the stu. I have always been fascinated with the human body and all its intricacies so this refresher was right on time to open the door to my new career. My passion for this line of work is strong. I strongly believe this is what All Creation put me on planet Earth for. The purest form of giving is anonymous to anonymous. And if i can learn to make great mixes and people hear it and enjoy it and even if they never even know my name, a sense of pride comes with that. Im taking this all in like a new born child learning to walk or talk for the first time. i cant wait to see what lies in store.

My first impression of Kevin was very professional. very down to earth. critical thinker like myself. i hope this is the beginning of a great mentorship and longtime friendship that is prosperous. i have no doubt that if i put my best efforts forward i can achieve grat things thru this program.

I have the outlets to supply local artists in my city. Im well connected and guys on the bubble are only a text, click or phone call away. im ready to work.

thisis the first day of the rest of my life...
