This first lesson was really intresting to me. When talking about how Hip Hop got its name, Afrika Bambaattaa uses adjectives such as; Peace, Unity, and Having Fun. I think thats one of the highlights of this lesson for me because in my opinion, music has so much power and influence. It has real potential to unify and uplift people when used positively. Another thing I liked about this lesson is learning about how the Zulu nation was a positive organization for the youth. Theyre really out there making a difference using the art of music.
