Lesson 6

We when covered the different parts of consoles, back to front, top to bottom. A subject I am familiar with and love to learn about new consoles. I found it a little odd that Ernie doesn't have a large console in his studio. He said these days with technology advancing as fast as it is, the large console is not a necessity, like it used to be. Most everything can be routed into the DAW. To prove this point check out this website. http://gcpro.com/slateraven.html This by far one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. Granted it will probably be awhile before I get to use something this cool, and even longer to own one. By that time technology will be far beyond this, maybe it will be something cool like surface computing like on CSI: Miami.

Signal flow like I said before, where is it coming from and where is it going to, and what stops are there along the way. Practice, practice, practice, and don't be afraid to make mistakes, if you don't make any, you don't learn anything. If you're a student, now is the time to make them. No ones perfect, I sure as hell am not! I've been embarrassed a lot in my life, and one of the conclusions I have found, is not to shy away, step up and try again. Try to do it the right way next time, ask for help!
