Lesson 9

I came into the studio on the back end of a recording session, they were laying down vocal tracks for a Hispanic band. I understand very little Spanish, but it that didn't matter. Watching how things were being done as they were happening, was very educational, I got to ask my questions after. Then we got right into more ProTools, more commands, different modes, more file structure, redundant saving, importing tracks, and more. I told him learning all this felt like when I was in school learning Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I start out kind of slow, but the more I used the programs, the faster I got and the more quick keys I remembered. Ernie told me that every time I worked on a session to learn at least one quick key. That's pretty much how I did it before. I finally got my M-Box, my new tower is not ready yet so my laptop will have to do for now. I know I'll use it on both anyway, but the laptop is due for its annual cleaning.
