No more than a month ago I knew nothing about microphone preamps. I sit here tonight at my computer screen stunned and amazed at my findings as I search around the world (internet) for different clips, opinions, and specs of any preamp that anyone doesn't mind sharing their knowledge on. And here I was thinking that "my recordings are not turning out like I plan because I don't have the top notch mic."

After being told about the Neve 1073 preamp I started my quest to find my perfect preamp (in the 2013 audio market). Since then I have stumbled upon some great youtube videos showing the specs and ability of many different pre's. I even received some audio files of preamp shootouts (the recording and playback of one take captured through two or more preamps). Learning is fun. Experimenting is better!
