Arrived at studio around 6:15 where My mentor Ricky rich was explaining microphone techniques for recording amplified instruments. We recorded an electric guitar being played thru an Orange amplifier. We went over the differnet types of microphone placements, my favorite was Off center with respect to speaker cone which gave it a mellow feel, and being as microphone was closer to edge of speaker cone resulted in duller sound and reduced hiss noise. I also took a liking to the draped technique (draped up and dripped out). I am currently working on chapter 7 :Tracking, will be back in the studio saturday for chapter review.
