on the dawn of their 6th LP and which some are calling The Mars Volta 2.0, The Mars Volta has just announced that they'll be opening for Soundgarden in Inglewood @ The Forum (July 22), the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO (July 18), and Philadelphia, PA @ Penns Landing Festival Pier (July 13). Freshly off of the full US Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group tour, the band looked to be in high spirits and newly revamped with Deantoni Parks on drums. Many feel that some of the new material from the upcoming album was played on the most recent tour. Very exciting times for any Volta fan like myself!!!
