Week one just started and I am crazy excited! I got an early jump on my ebook assignments and made it into the studio for the first day. When I arrived at the studio, I met with April and I watched her work on a song she is making with another artist and an RRFC student. It was cool to sit behind and watch her tweak the audio to perfection. That’s the first time I have seen someone piece together a song like that, so that was a great learning experience. After watching her go through the Logic software, she let me mess around with the controls and create a little something from scratch by myself. There are so many possible sounds to piece together and let your creative juices flow. I worked on two very short, basic pieces. For my first piece of work, I went for a heavy/dark vibe with and the second was more bouncy and upbeat. I also go to work with another student, John, on his album; helping record and sort through background vocals. Week one seemed quite promising so far! Stay tuned, I will continue to share my excitement through each step in the process.
