Digital audio is a facinating result of a reproduced analog sound. Though it doesn't compete to actual analog equipment, over the years technology has advanced beyond it's origin to accomplish some of the most interesting tones we have heard over the years from artists we cherish. A big part of this chapter gave me clarity on how to properly launch a session while following proper parameters. I was given a made aware and given a proper understanding of the Sample Rate and Bit Depth of each session! As a self taught engineer until beginning the recording connection, I ran into many struggles while trying to learn the trade on my own. After reading this chapter it has redefined what I knew as proper and helped me standardize my own past experience and correct steps in the chain I was ignorant of at my humble beginnings. This chapter also touched base on what bit's were and elaborated through the sizes from bytes, kilobytes, to megabytes, to gigabytes, and so on. It explained about the importance of an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) and DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter), and also the Nyquist Theorem. I am grateful for the guidence of my mentor and valuable information the Recording Connection's ActiveTextbook has supplied me with! I can feel and hear the change in my work and it's wonderful!
