So this was my first week working with my mentor Justin Portis, he is a multi-instrumentalist producer and mixing engineer. He was mixing a record when I got there and he taught me a little bit of that process, organize the tracks, plug-ins and tips on how to find the right sound. The record was a hip-hop/rap song that he wrote and produced, in my opinion the record hasagreat vibe with funky guitars and bass an old school beat and a groove electric piano. He told me the singer is signed under his independent label Delicate Minds that specializes in indie music. We took a break to get some coffee, after that he showed me some songs he wrote and produced and it turned out he actually is the mind behind a song i had stuck in my head  for months, it's a great song called "101" by WALLA that has a really catchy bass line that he recorded. I was really shocked by the coincidence because four months I never would have thought that my mentor would be the producer and co-writer of this great viral song. It's a pretty small world out there.
