One thing I learned is to create the session and save it as a template after all changes are made. Check levels and save, before any recording is done. This then allows you to open a new session with the template and be ready to go in a very short time. This not only saves you time, but makes you look more professional. Plus, you can always use the same template in the future if that same band returns.
