Automation Posted on 2014-09-09 by Luis Garcia

This week I attended Rusk Studios once again and worked in the upstairs room where most of the song writting is done. With the help of my engineer Steve I managed to automate a vocal of one of Lana Del Rey's song "Born to Die". Previously he had showed me how using Pro Tools 11 but this time I did on Logic Pro X because it is the program I use to make music production. Also this week we had a group session on Saturday at their newest studio on Gordon Street. This session was with amazing drummer Damian who has worked with multiple rock bands, Steve and Michael. In this session Steve showed us the drum kit and microphones that where used to capture the sound with full detail. Later, whe went back to the studio room where Steve introduced us to the Neve Console and adjusted the sound levels on the drum kit. Damian played along a track titled "Mia Koda" and I have to admit he played amazing! every kick, snare, tom hit where precise and I was loving it! Overall it was an amazing experience never before I have seen a track being recorded live. I look foward to this weeks lesson and future group session.
