I am going back to the program after a long hiatus.
I am relearning and going over old simple concepts such as, "What does a Gate exactly do?"
A simple wiki search helped me understand some concepts about a Gate that I hadn't fully processed until today:

The Release is to define the length of time the gate takes to change from open to fully closed, and the Attack is the length of time the gate takes to change from closed to fully open.
Just like an instrument, a simple concept can be explained a million times to the musician, but until the concept is explained in a way that is simple and digestable to the student it won't be fully understood.
I am in the process of getting a new mentor and I'm looking forward to what else I am going to learn, as well as what other light bulbs will be going on!
