This week I learned a lot of important things about sound waves, new listening techniques, and more imformation about sound, and hearing as a whole. Before reading this chapter, there was a lot of information I was unfamiliar with about my what my ears are capable, and uncapable of as an individual, as well as the norms of societys average ear capability. I learned what I, again as an individual, should and shouldn't be listening to, including the sounds damaging to most everyones ear drums, as well as the ones most damaging to myself. I found it particularyly interesting how sound is created, along with all of the characteristics that go along with how certain sounds are percieved. Learning about Hz and finding out how far along I could hear them was very interesting and made me reconsider how I've been treating my ears, and realizing I need to start taking better care of them. It helped me realize the effects loud music, and offensive tones have on my ears, and cause damage. Unfortunately I have yet to experience my first hands on training, however I am very much looking forward to it. I have learned so much in just one week, which is making me eager with excitement to start furthering my education more and more in this field.
