Chapter 2 was a breeze. As an engineer, It's very important to understand the basic functions of electricity, Seeing as our entire analogue and digital world are reliant on it.
Here are some problems one might encounter in the studio regarding electricity.
1 - Power saving lighbulbs "hum" because of their resistance. Therefore they aren't suitable for the studio.
2 - If power cords lay adjacent to audio cords they may interfere with the sound. Best to cross at 90 degree angle.
3 - Most buildings are grounded, and have their own frequency response.
4 - If a piece of equipment is not grounded properly it will pop, fuzz, etc.
