Chapter 17 Recording Connection Blog Posted on 2015-01-21 by Tanner Bjorklund

This chapter was awesome. I've already been well self-educated on the topic of automation within Pro Tools. However, I was not very knowledgable on the Elastic Audio part of Pro Tools and automation before this lesson. It was cool to learn how to change the timing of beats and vocals to match one another. Also, learning the true differences between different automation modes was helpful: off, read, touch, latch, and write all have essential characteristics. It's insane to think that elastic audio didn't even exist in Pro Tools until 7.4 and tick based tracks weren't available until 6.7 in Pro Tools. All in all, I've learned many useful things from this chapter and I will use them as a tool for a great mix on my final mixtape.
