Lesson 1 Introduction to Sound and Hearing Posted on 2013-03-12 by Jarvis Hollowell

Lesson 1/ March 4, 2013/ 5pm to 7pm

I walked into the musical playground at the American Recording Studio and was more amazed and excited as the first time I walked in.  My mentor Will Gilbert and i sat down to discuss the introduction to sound and hearing.  He pulled up a pro tools session he was working on to thoroughly explain phasing, pitch, waveforms, and wave lengths.  We listend to some guitar wave lengths that needed to be phased.  The yamaha ms10s exhaled beautiful guitar leads Will phased and cleaned using Z noise and X noise plugins.   We discussed how mixing too loud and too soft results in a misrepresentation of the music being mixed.  We also talked about the safety of hearing and how important it is to take care of my ears.  I learned a lot and cherish every expirence i have in the lavish studio.Stay Fo!!!!
