Lesson 6 Intro to the Console Posted on 2013-04-10 by Jarvis Hollowell

My mentor Will and i are moving into more hands on practices of mixing magic.  As I took my turn sitting on the thrown where all of the mixing at American Recording Studio is done Will explained their normaled patch bay.  We then open a session in pro tools and Will guided me through the process of patching a vocal to an analog mixer and back into pro tools.  We applied reverb and delay to the vocal track as well as monitored the wave lengths for phasing errors.

I also took my second quiz and passed it as well as the first quiz from lesson five.  Lesson five's quiz was on the different polar patterns and different types of microphones that have one or more polar patterns.  The second quiz was on identifying the types and patterns just by looking at the mics.

In conclusion this was all very helpful as my journey is taking me to building my own home studio.  Stay Fo!
