Digital Audio, covered in chapter 3, definitely was packed with tons of information. I've seen all these terms such as Bit Depth and Sample Rate, but never truly realized what they meant or how they effect the music we're producing. I'm realizing how many small intricate details go into engineering and how much each thing matters when wanting to get the absolute best sound possible. From the file type, and the amount of compression used to the storage of files and the amount of space they take up etc. I found The Nyquist Theorem extremely interesting and am looking more in depth to understanding it so to apply it. It's crazy how music production has transformed throughout the years through technology. It's infinite in it's possibilities which is why I love it.
Connectivity, covered in chapter 4, was really interesting to learn about. It's a major part of getting the type of sound we want. I saw all of the different types of cables at the studio which helped to understand more about all the different ones being used for particular things. I learned about phasing, and how just checking to see if lines are out of phase can make a huge difference in sound. What the wires are made out of also has huge part as to how well the electrons flow through to give better quality.
