On 3/21, I got to sit in and observe an album being mixed. I had the privelage of meeting Christian Stanfield, the founding member of The Side Street Steppers, who are an amazing unique band widely known in the Memphis and surrounding areas. It was really cool to be able to see what goes into the finishing touches of each song on an album. I really enjoyed being a part of this. I love meeting musicians and being able to interact with them in the studio. I learn from them as well. And in the music industry, it is of great importance to be able to work with all different types of people. It's a really awesome feeling when you can sense that they are comfortable and happy working around you. The Side Street Steppers wilil be releasing their newest album soon, their third one to be recorded at Electraphonic with my mentor Scott Bomar. I was really happy to be able just to be there while some of the mixing was being done.
