Chapter 16 is about MIDI. MIDI stands for musical instrument digital interface, it is basically the notes you play on a controller that are processed through your computer. I just got my first MIDI controller the other day so I was super exited to learn about MIDI. It goes over different things about MIDI like sequencing, quantization, and velocity. These are all crucial things to understand when you are making music. As an engineer you need to know what the producer has to do and what it takes for him to do his job in order to do your job effectively. It shows everything important about using MIDI in Pro Tools so you can get a full understanding on how to use your MIDI controller in sync with Pro Tools. I will be using all of these tools when I am producing or mixing in Pro Tools in the future.
