This week we able to run a session and the focus was tracking vocals in pro tools and using compression propperly. we used the Manley Mic , the student performing the vocal. had a instrumental they made. We proceded to track the record using the mercinary pre amp and the Avalon compressor. what i learned from this session is that when possoble the vocal should go through mulptile layers of compressoion . so it dosent clip when tracking and to help the vocals sit on top of the track.
