Tracking a band Posted on 2018-03-15 by Derek Bradford

This week i was able to help track a six piece band. This would be the most advance tracking session that I have seen to date. It was very helpful because it allowed me to see how to properly record a band, while isolating each instrument. It was very important that certain band members see each other for ques in the song. Also I was able to get more familiar with routing from the live room to the patch-bay to outboard gear and in to pro tools. With this session specifically being organized was crucial the the head engineer of the session made a very detailed input list that was easy to reference. doing this allowed everyone to reference the same material and stay coordinated.
