Oberservation #1 Post Jairo Noboa Posted on 2018-06-29 by Jairo Noboa

So basically I had a really fun experience getting to see how the equipment in a studio is used and how professionals organize their things. Organization is key with previous projects because artists can use these projects whenever they want. If you dont organize then they will be lost and you can lose the opportunity of your project being released. So keeping track of files is key to being a good producer/engineer. The producer uses different tracks to develop the mix first track prints the master, another track is the source pre master,  reference track for the mix,and the fully mastered version. Mark entered the room asked us how many stages are there to making a record and I learned there is three tracking ,mixing, mastering. He also explained about how their focus is on dynamic range amplitude values how loud and how soft something is. The dynamic range on the records we listen to are 3 db's  they reduce the sounds to a certain level with compression. After that I was able to setup mics and move things around for an interview with Angela Yee and Casanova which was awesome.Got to see the room where all the recording takes place overall First day of my observation I got to see a rapper pretty shocking to me and I learned alot.
