Mix Theory Posted on 2014-06-25 by Eileen Boschert

In this session we discussed mixing in depth.   We talked about balance and the creative license in terms of the subjectiveness of mixing.   I learned about panning certain instruments to create a sense of space and depth.  We touched on basics like labelling and grouping.  We discussed the different elements such as adjusting levels, equalization, reverb, phasing as well as automation and bouncing.  We discuused the duties of the mastering engineer and how you must adjust your levels and effects acordingly to allow for their changes.  Lastly to listen to your mix in mono and suggested sample rate and bit depth. 5/30
