Time-based effects are my personal favorite thing to hear in a mix. Interesting sounds are what make hits, and time-based effects are certainly THE most interesting sounding effect out there. Stereo panning allows a delay to bounce from one side of your head to the other, providing a disorienting, alien experience not commonly found in nature.
