Don't Blame Pop Posted on 2011-10-04 by William Coors

Pop music get's a bad name sometimes. Yes, it's true, majority of pop music is heavily "auto tuned" but why is that a bad thing? Look at this way, your voice is an instrument (even if you can't sing). Auto tune is an instrument as well. Auto tune just gives the voice a special effect, an effect that is actually really cool and brings music up to the 21st century. With eveything out there in the world technology wise, why does music have to still live in the past? Pop music see's the use of the auto tune a lot but so what? Auto tune doesnt make a song. If the song is actually a good song then why does it matter how the voice is used? Not everyone is going to like the same music, so if you dont like it then turn it off. Don't blame pop music either. Auto tune is used in all types of music, not just pop. Music is music not brain surgery.  Using auto tune won't kill millions of people, it's just a song. So sit back and enjoy the music.
