My first class session with Brian Frederick. Entering Hybrid Studios is always a breathtaking experience starting from the entrance all the way into Mr. Frederick's studio. His studio is compact but the way he put it together makes it enjoyable to record in. As a beginner in the recording field, looking at all of the equipment is like looking at a foreign country. I do not know the names to any of the equipment nor do I know how it works but hopefully in time, I will. Mr. Frederick went over Chapters 1-4 and we discussed each one in depth so that I have a better understanding of it. In all honesty, I was lost when I read it; however, after he explained it, it is a lot easier to understand.
You may think that I'm slow for not understanding the information I read, don't get me wrong, I am embarrassed about it. I do not have any musical talents, but I am hoping to become a musical talent one day. It's a goal worth striving for.
We then went over the quizzes I took and he also showed me this awesome app (that you do have to purchase) called QUIZTONES. It allows your ears to practice hearing the different tones in kHZ. He is constantly telling me, it is not about how many instruments you know how to play but how well you are able to show your worth. Basically, if you are able to distinguish different tones all of the time to any musician, they would be impressed. After all, recording musicians and their music requires you to always have your ears alert.
Well, that's all I have to say in my blog. Sorry it's not that interesting..... But maybe this picture of his studio is.
