Chatper 14 dealt with Dynamic Signal Processing. Aka: Compression/Limiting, Gates, Expanders, and various compression techniques. This chapter was a lot of fun...It was very satisfying to finally fix the subtleties in the vocal tracks and others. It makes such a difference in the way the whole mix sounds. I did realize that when I added compression and soloed a track, it sometimes sounded different in the mix once it was played with all the other tracks than what I expected. working through that proved to be challenging but rewarding as well. This is a very technical chapter...A lot of information was in this lesson, but especially after adding compression, I can say I have a pretty solid grasp on the concepts.
