On Wednesday 08/29/2012, Joey Heier invited me to a live video shoot for the Group "Imagine". It was interesting to see how engineering works in a live setting since I was always focused on Studio recording sessions, but hadn't considered live taping or recording. I noticed there were 5 camera operators, a host of musicians, the Group "Imagine" & Joey who was directing the video along with "Imagine's Manager. The group had their own live recording engineer & DJ as well. It was great experience for me just being able to be in the mix of all the action. I paid particular attention to how the engineer & the Group communicated in terms of the audio output by their speakers, whether it was too low or too loud & had to be adjusted by the engineer. The Group would even stop in the middle of the recording for another take if they were not comfortable with the settings or volume that was set for them. , Some of the female group members changed outfits several times during the shoot, depending on which song element they wanted to capture, which I think really advanced the song along with complimenting each other very well. All together the shoot lasted approximately 7 hours, but it was all worth it for me; especially since its not everyday that I get to be part of a live video shoot.
