Last week was tone control….this week was volume control. We went over compressors. We talked about threshold, range, and release. Which was interesting. I learn more and more information every time I come down to the studio. A lot of stuff that I have known but not really understood or even knew that there was a term for what was going on. Like the slowly fading out of a song, or the slowly rising introduction of a song. That all has to do with volume control. And all that has to do with the range (how far), the release (how fast), and the threshold (when).
