Surround Sound – I have dolby digital surround sound in my basement. But never really understood what the “.1” meant in “5.1” because there was always six speakers. Surround sound is  quite interesting really. It gives the listener a better and more realistic sound. Also along with surround sound, we talked about the standard sampling rate of cds which is 44.1 kHz. When it comes to compact discs, there is replication and duplication. They sound the same but they are very different. Duplication is what happens when you burn a cd for a friend. Replication is when the cd is manufactured from the original disc. Pretty interesting.
