This lesson was an interesting one. Automation is one of the few mechanics in ProTools that I've never played with in any DAW; it really does open the door to creativity though. The few things I saw Doug do in the tutorial videos gave me a rush of ideas, like using automation to kinda trip out a guitar sound, or maybe using it with a chorus effect on a vocal to keep the listener guessing. There are a bunch of different possibilities that I'm really excited for. The only thing that didn't make to much sense to me was the Elastic Audio. I understand the concept of it, to change the timing of a sample so it works with the rest of the song, but I'm not really sure how to fine tune the sound's timing. The video Doug did on Elastic Audio made sense and all, but I feel like I need to just try it in person and see it done in person. I'm definitely asking Uncle Joe about Elastic Audio, I'm sure he has some tricks up his sleeve. So with this lesson down, I'm becoming closer and closer to the end of this E-Book. It's crazy how fast it seems this whole expierience is moving, but at the same time it's really nice. Only 2 more lessons left!
