Another great session with Uncle Joey. Each lesson keeps getting better as the program goes on. We sat down, briefly went over the chapter quiz, then he opened up the rest of the session for questions and talking about mixing without getting into too much detail. A lot of the questions I came up with were'nt able to be answered right away because they will all be answered in a future chapter geared specifically towards that question. I'm just a thorough person so I ask questions which are a little ahead of me. But he was able to answer a few of them. I didn't understand what a comp track was, so he thoroughly explained how an artist could take multiple takes, and then piece together good sections from each take to make one track. He even went as far as pulling up a little video to help me understand even more. He explained how too much reverb could potentially clowd a sound. We also touched on setting up for a mix. He explained how each session is going to be different, but there are several different things which can help the process run a lot smoother such as, color coding, organizing tracks, using markers and listening to the song. I'm looking forward to everything that is yet to come.
