Lesson #17

So the shoot was scheduled to start at 8:30am. Well that didn’t happen. To start, it took me longer to get all the equipment together after work than I thought it would. Then, my lead actress’s ride fell through so I had to go pick her up. Then she took forever to get ready. We were finally able to get to the shooting location at quarter of 10am. From there, Angelo, my friend Corey, who acted as PA got to setting up the room. It was close quarters which made it fairly difficult to move around, set up lighting and camera angles. Despite that, we managed. My make-up artist arrived around 10am. She and I had a brief conversation about what I was looking for in the alien character. After she and her partner got started pretty quickly. Though the prep for that took a while. My lead actor and me went over lines and talked through the scene. We didn't actually start shooting until almost noon. Starting so much later than I planned was very stressful, but once things got going it was actually fun. I never felt that good. Though we also wrapped later than planned, around 6pm. I look forward to the next time I get to do a shoot like that.

Angelo's got started on edit. He said he was about half way done a rough cut. I've gotten started on my sizzle reel. I'm about half way through. I talked to Eli at the school about laying down the score. Music isn't really my thing. He mentioned about having the recording engineers doing. Seems like a good idea. My treatment is done. Just waiting for Angelo to get me a rough cut to turn it into Tim. Home stretch. Will update more later.
