First let me say this has been a great journey but I am fully aware and prepared to continue to learn. We have arrived at the final stage, Mastering. What is it? Mastering is basically the process in which you take your entire mixed song (your finished product) and give it the final polish with things such as loudness, overall dynamics, and using this as the master file that all copies are derived from.

My mentor showed me concepts and things to consider in the master phase. One tip is to compare your song loudness to commercial music but, don’t wait until mastering to fix major problems. Mastering should be approached with subtle adjustments and everything should be done in the mix before mastering. Keep in mind that when you master, the file will be all your individual tracks combined as one file so anything that may be to loud or to muddy You affect the entire song. The best approach is to fix it in the mix.
