We discussed the different types of equalizers: active and passive. Passive being DAW and active referring to guitar amps. In other words a passive EQ need a power source in order for it to work where as a active EQ has a built in amp. We also talked about the "correct" way to use an EQ. Frankly, there is no correct way. Yes, you do have pre-sets that may get you close to the sound you need or want, but what it all boils down to is practice. You have to play with it, trial and error, until you hear what need to be there.
