I like to take the time to credit a well beloved artist of mine known as Chamillionaire. This artist was actually the artist that pushed me to pursue my dream and take on the Audio Engineering program at the Recording Connection... Read More >>
Zack Zapf — Pittsburgh Recording Connection
Hi, my name is Zack Zapf, but most people call me Double Z. Ever since the age of 13 I have been in love with music, always writing, and listening to a wide variety of artists. Growing up I listened to a lot of classic rock, but as I hit my teens I fell in love with hip hop. Everything i did evolved around hip hop music. No matter what I was doing I had to be listening to music (hip hop). Around the age of 16 i really started to get into more of the artist aspect of hip hop, and started writing non stop every night for probably a good 2 years straight. It wasn't until my freshman year at College where i began to take my passion for hip hop music a step further and hit the recording phase of this art. Once my sophmore year hit, I was in love with the recording process. I wrote and recorded a lot of my work, but I fell for the passion of finding other talent out there and recording them as well. I loved working with various artists, and experimenting with their vocals, seeing what i could do with them in regards to the type of sound or song, and basically adding effects, editing, and so on. I started recording random students at my school, and I knew right there that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. Let's fast forward a little bit......I have been out of school for over a year now, and I found a financially stable program (given the debt I am already in) that has given me the opportunity to live my dream. So here I am, working full time, and enrolled in an Audio Engineering training program, pushing myself, networking as much as I can, gaining the skills, knowledge, and experience that is needed to be a successfull engineer in the music industry. I want this bad, and I do not plan on anyone getting in my way or preventing me from reaching my goal, my dream, my future. I worked hard all my life, whether it was at a fast food joint, chores around the house, basketbal practice, etc. I always pushed myself to be one up on the guy (or girl) next to me. I actually have the opportunity to work in the music industry, and i am taking this chance and making it happen. It's now or never.............might as well be now.........one more thing.......one of my favorite hip hop artist's has always said "What's life worth living if your not happy living it"?
