Chris Webby: Lyricism at its Best Posted on 2012-01-04 by Zack Zapf

The number one thing I love about hip hop is lyricism, the wordplay, the meaning behind the metaphor. There are many artist's that have a good sound, but how many lyricist's are still out there? Hip Hop has gone down the "commercial" stream over the years, and it really makes me appreciate underground hip hop so much more. One artist in particular, Chris Webby. This kid is un like any other rapper, in that he is a white male who grew up in the suburbs, and wouldn't let any one stand in his way to live his dream, to do what he worked on day in and day out, perfecting his craft to be. The first time I have ever heard him i accidently came across a song he did a few years back titled "50 Bar Killa" . I was amazed at the lyrical ability this kid had off the bat, and I started listening to him ever since. What makes me even more a fan is that he strives on lyricism, he is all about doing what a rapper should be doing. He got a lot of buzz in 2011, and is bigger than he ever was once he released "Webster's Labratory". There are many great rappers out there today, too many to recognize, but what makes me give Chris Webby recognition is that he started from the suburbs as a white male rapper, which is rare in hip hop, and he never backed down. he kept grinding, and he developed a deadly flow that can compete with the Majors. If you dont know him yet, I am sure you will eventually. He has the skill to blow, and the lyricism to back it up......
