Session 2 & Chapter 3 Posted on 2015-09-05 by William Awtry

Today much like yesterday was more of a review for me as there wasnt much to talk about with electricity witch was the topic of chapter 2. I have had some experience with electricity and worked as a Home Automation and Low Voltage installer for a local guy name Bil Cox when I was younger. He designed whole house automation, surround sound system and home theater systems and would have me help him install them. So I learned alot about speakers and electrical signals and some about digital audio as well. That being said most of my tim ein the studio today was again spent having a conversation with Rory. Im greatful that even in these times that he doesnt have alot of studio stuff going on he is still willing ot have these meetings with me and discuss not only what im reading but also the music industry and what strategies he has for building a scene in our small area. It is set up to grow and we want to grow with it. I am excited for the oportunity to build something from the ground up here in Bend. I couldnt have asked for a better fit in studios to intern at. Though im sure there are busier and bigger studios out there, there is a huge advantage to having more one on one time with my mentor and being able to access him for any question. Further than that I also am excited about the opportunity to work with Rory after my intership as an engineer at his studio. Wether that be as an employee or contract im not sure at this point, It will be determined on weather or not we can build enough clientel. This is the Industry I wanted to be in. Now its time to hustle!! I am commited to flyering and handing out business cards to local musicians and it all starts there.
