The further I get with these sessions, the more familiar I get with the equipment that is used when recording. The format that Rob prefers to use when given beats by rappers is the WAV format. It gives a better quality of sound but takes up more space than an MP3 does. I found this out during my second session prior to this chapter. That past session made this chapter a little more easy to grasp than it would have initially. When recording we use Pro Tools which seems like the staple for recording nowadays. My mentor uses some newer equipment mixed some older which in his words, "Gives his recordings that unique sounds." I see it as using the best of both worlds. He also says that having the equipment is one thing but knowing how to use it is a completely different thing.
