My mentor and I spent a great deal getting into navigating Pro Tools and showing me techniques and shortcuts to make this new software easier for me. Prior to that, we started off by going through lessons 7- 9 one by one.

We discussed in depth about:

The 4 main miking techniques and how they are used.

The 3:1 ratio

Amplifiers

Solid State vs Tube preamps

Recording Scratch Tracks and its use

Basic navigation and shortcuts around Pro Tools

This time at the studio I was very confident in stating my own input if I were asked specific questions (not questions in the book). I really enjoyed being able to set up tracks plugging in my acoustic/electric guitar to my mbox without much difficulty with the guidance of my mentor. We checked the few but interesting plug ins that my Pro Tools has to offer.
