So I've been running a little(okay, maybe a lot) behind on blog updates for various reasons, but as of this date I have officially completed Lessons 1 through 10. Throughout the past few months Doug and i have covered many subjects; from recording basics, to recording room setups to microphone placement up until the point of getting to know ProTools. I have now recieved my copy of said software as well as my Scarlet hardware and have toyed around with both for numerous hours. the whole concept of getting to know all the shortcuts and simply how to use the software to my full advantage is still a very confusing thing to me, but I have no doubt that within the next few weeks I will become very familiar with these things. Hopefully Doug will have a few more sessions for me to sit in on within the very near future as I am incredibly eager to spend some time in an actual recording setting with an actual band. These past few months have been very educational and mind opening to me(although I've been very busy within mutliple aspects of my personal life) and I am very excited to take all of these things to the next step. From now on, I'll try to keep my blog updated a whole lot more recently and I plan to stick to the curriculum as it was supposed to be from the very beginning. Forever thankful for this opportunity and I can't thank Recording Connection and Doug Vaugn enough for the time they have given me thus far. You'll be hearing from me soon with a whole lot more to say.
