This will cover a few classes, but I've since started working woth another engineer at Da Spot, named Sean. We started going over microphones: dynamic, condenser, ribbon, and polar patterns like cardioid, omni-directional, and bi-directional.
He told me about two things one being an online program by and for people in the audio industry called Pensado's Place, hosted by Dave Pensado in Los Angeles. I watched I few episodes and they had some guests from bands such as Beck and producers and such, which was interesting, but a lot of it went over my head...for now. Another, was a forum called GearSlutz.com which I've not visited yet. There is a studio in Richmond called Sound of Music which seems interesting.
Yesterday, was pretty slow. I observed Kelly as he finished a mix and started mastering. I'm trying to find a paid job/internship more in-line with the industry I'm going into, so I interviewed with Guitar Center and have yet to see if The National or other local venues will hire me.
