I have just finished my tracking lesson, but we hve been working on set up and band placement for a while now. This information is so critical to getting quality recordings becasue no matter how much editing you're capable of, the better the input is the better the final prouct will be. At the studio, we have encountered on a couple occasions that less mics on a drum can actually give you a cleaner sound sometimes, depending on the vibe/style you're going for.
