Jordan StephenSacramento Recording Connection

Beginning Posted on 2017-10-11 by Jordan Stephen

I started heading into my mentors' studio about a month ago for my initial interview. Almost immediately, I was helping out with random tasks. I even interned for a session before I could officially enroll in the program. It was great, and I felt like they actually needed me, as opposed to possibly being a burden on them. It also helped that I have been a musician for over half my life, so I already knew the basics of mic setup and cable management.

It took a while for me to officially enroll in the program and create a schedule for my studio time, but now were are on a roll, and I couldn't be more excited about the future.
I started my courses this week, and at first, accidentally completed Chapter 3 in the textbook before I realized I had skipped ahead. Even at that point in the text book, I was breezing by, due to my prior knowledge simply acquired through experience and YouTube tutorials. However, it is nice to know that I will be able to ease my way into this program. I haven't been in a formal educational environment for 2 years now, so hopefully, I will be better at absorbing new information by the time that it becomes critical to learn.

With that said, this program is already answering a few questions I've always had, but didn't know how to find an answers to. The future is looking good.
